For the premiere-exhibition Unten Drunter is pleased to announce the Norwegian artist Lars Morell's first solo-show in Malmö. The exhibition is taking place the same weekend as “Öppet Hus”, when all the artistic activities at Bragegatan 15 are opening their doors to the public.

For the exhibition Morell will show the work entitled “Blurry Diamonds” (2006). The title refers to the effect that occurs when a strong light source is reflected trough the lens of a camera; also called lens flare. This work is an installation made using laser light. With the laser, which is similar as used in alarm systems, he will make an abstract composition inspired by Marcel Duchamp's work “Sixteen Miles of String”. The laser light is made visible by a randomly activated smoke machine. It is reflected through mirrors installed in the room and continues its line throughout the window into the sky.

Lars Morell works within various media's and starts of with well known symbols from the entertainment industry. With these common references he is continuing his project in search of meeting points between courage and paranoia; sensation and catastrophe; fiction and reality. Morell is interested in presentation and perception of art, and the possibilities in changes of routines connected to this.

He was born 1980 in Kristiansand and studied in Oslo at the National Academy of Fine Art, 2001 - 2005. He was last summer part of the groupshow "Visible - Invisible" at Galerie Jan Wentrup in Berlin, and the Norwegian sculptors biennale in Oslo. He will this year be part of the groupshows "Come Into the Open" at 0047, Oslo; and "Criss Cross" at Christianssands kunstforening; and do solo exhibitions at GAD, Oslo; Prosjektrommet at Galleri F15, Moss; and Porsgrunn Kunstforening.

Unten Drunter is a new exhibition space at Bragegatan 15 in Malmö, located in the same stairwell as Skånes Konstförening. Together with the already established galleries in the area, we would like to strengthen the coherence during the opening night when a great number of people is visiting the area. Unten Drunter will thereby only show every exhibition during two days, the opening night and the Saturday that follows, and wishes to complement the other galleries by focusing on art and artists living outside of Skåne.
